Culburra/Crookhaven
Beach
–
the
most
popular
of
the
two
beaches
for
dog
fanciers,
it
is
a
3.7
km
long,
wide
sandy
expansive
beach
from
Penguin
Head,
at
Culburra
and
running
North
to
Crookhaven
Heads.
Even
in
the
middle
of
summer,
the
beach
is
never
crowded
and
access
points
are
available
along
the
full
length
of
the
beach.
Waves
are
around
1.5
metres
decreasing
along
the
southern
end
known
as
Tilbury
Cove.
Dogs
are
allowed
on
the
beach
24hrs
,7
days
a
week
with
leash
free
times
from
3pm
–
10am
(Autumn/winter
months);
4pm
–
8am
(
Summer
holiday
period).
Warrain
Beach/Currarong
Beach
-
is
the
main
surfing
beach
for
the
settlement
of
Culburra.
It
begins
on
the
south
side
of
Penguin
Head
and
runs
to
the
south
also
for
3.7
kilometres
past
the
usually
blocked
mouth
of
Wollumboola
Lake
to
the
low
rocks
at
Kinghorn
Point,
via
a
track
off
Currarong
road
on
the
way
to
Currarong.
It
is
a
long
sandy
beach
with
access
points
along
the
first
1km,
and
the
last
1km.
Dogs
are
allowed
on
the
beach
24hrs
,7
days
a
week
with
leash
free
times
from
3pm
to
10am
(Autumn/winter
months);
4pm
to
8am
(Summer holiday period).
Wollumboola
Lake
is
a
restricted
area,
given
the
native
bird
life,
therefore
dogs
are
not
allowed
in
and
around
the
lake
shores
on
the
northern
side
of
the
Lake,
nor
are
they
allowed
to
access
the
lake
from
Warrain beach side.
Culburra has two surfing beaches that are
both dog friendly . . .
Crookhaven
Heads
–
dogs
are
most
welcome
along
the
bush
walk
up
to
the
Crookhaven
Heads
historic
lighthouse,
from
Crookhaven
lookout
and
around
the
foreshore
areas
including
Crookhaven
River
& Crookhaven/Culburra beach.
Callala
Bay
and
Beach
–
are
located
at
the
northern
end
of
Jervis
Bay
and
are
a
short
10minute
drive
from
Culburra.
Both
bay
and
beach
have
leash
free
areas
for
dogs
between
4pm
–
8am
daily
and
also
on
leash
dog friendly 24hrs, 7 days a week.
The
Wreck
Walk
from
Abrahams
Bosom,
Currarong
–
this
is
a
really
easy
3km
walk
that
takes
you
to
some
pristine
beaches
along
the
way.
The
Coombes
walk
is
longer
at
9km
and
also
takes
you
to
some
remote
locations.
Dogs
are
allowed
on
the
tracks
on
lead
and
also
allowed
on
the
beaches
and
foreshore
areas.
You
do
need
to
take
water,
as this is not available along the trails.
If
heading
out
for
a
half
or
full
day
trip
further
south
then
you
will
find
dog
friendly
beaches
at
Huskisson,
Vincentia,
Sanctuary
Point,
Basin
View,
Swan
Lake,
Bendalong
and
Lake
Conjola.
If
heading
north,
then
Shoalhaven
Heads
beach,
100metres
down
from
the
patrolled
area,
is
also
dog
friendly.
