Animal
Equilibrium uses a range of natural therapies to improve the health and
wellbeing of companion and performance animals.
These modalities include:
The Science behind
Energy Medicine/Natural Therapies
Scientists now accept that all matter even at the atomic level is fundamentally bundles of energy. Our energy field and our animals energy field, extends beyond the physical body and can be detected by cameras and other electromagnetic measuring instruments. Just because we personally cannot see or feel it, doesn’t mean the energy field isn’t there.
Kirlian photography has also been used to monitor changes in the energy field following various treatment modalities. Given that our body and our animal’s bodies are fundamentally energy then treating with modalities that are energy based (most natural therapies) makes logical sense. Energy flows in bodies along meridians that were identified by Chinese Medicine thousands of years ago. There are also key energy portals called chakras which were recognised in ancient India. Acupuncture points have been scientifically shown to be physiologically different to other points on the body.
Energy medicine takes on many forms - Acupuncture, Reiki, Sound Therapy, Homeopathy, Kinesiology, Bowen Therapy, Flower Essences, Light Lasers and Scenar amongst many others. Whilst many may wonder about the basis of Natural Therapies the actual science behind energy/vibrational medicines stems from Quantum Physics.
Natural Therapies for both well and
sick/injured animals . . . A
sick animal can often be helped by natural therapies for many chronic or
ongoing conditions such as persistent itching or allergies, recurring
infections, digestive problems and animals that generally seem to have low
immune levels. Musculoskeletal
problems, such as pain, lameness and stiffness also respond very well to
natural therapies such as Bowen Therapy, Kinesiology and Neural
Organisation Technique. A
combination of approaches incorporating essences, Bowen and Kinesiology
can often support behavioural changes for animals with fears or who have
not responded as well as one hoped from purely behavioural training
approaches. A
very important factor in keeping all of us optimally healthy is diet and
this is no different for your companion/performance animal. As
part of any consultation, Animal Equilibrium will discuss with you your
animal’s diet and feeding regime and ways to improve your animal’s
well-being and performance through dietary changes. Animal
Equilibrium has a special interest in natural approaches to improving the
performance of canine athletes and incorporates a range of modalities to
keep your animal in “top shape” and prevent injury.
The design of warm up, cool down and overall health and fitness
programs can also be part of the overall services provided. Please
note that for more acute or sudden conditions such as car accidents,
poisonings and severe sudden allergies or deterioration in condition, it
is recommended that you seek local urgent veterinary care. Animal
Equilibrium may also suggest veterinary assessment prior to the
application of physical based therapies (Bowen Therapy or Kinesiology
/Neural Organisation Technique) following a discussion with you about your
animals presenting problems. Animals
that will benefit from our services . . . Animal
