Essences, Homeopathy
and Biochemic Therapy
Flower
and
Crystal
Essences , Homeopathy and Mineral Tissue Salts have important roles to
play in an animal’s physical, emotional and mental wellbeing.
Flower and
Crystal
Essences
Flower
and crystal essences are
extremely dilute, vibrational solutions which contain the energetic
imprint of a particular flower, leaf, plant,
crystal or tree and are
prepared by either the sun or boiling method. Parts of the flower or plant
are diluted and then potentised to become effective. The essences are used
in different combinations based
on the presenting problems.
What eastern and western medicine has shown is that physical health
conditions often manifest from deeper emotional imbalances as an
animal’s psycho-emotional state can alter the bodies neurotransmitters
and cytokines (the protein messengers that control immune reactions) in
both the immune and endocrine systems. This weakens the resistance of the
animal to disease. Flower and crystal remedies
are a gentle non-toxic and non invasive
means of restoring the inner balance of the body through a transfer of
“life energy” from the flower/crystal essence to the animal.
Alleviating emotional stresses and thus stimulating the body to heal
itself. There are no side effects with essences and it is impossible to
“overdose” and they are easy to administer and use.
To determine
the essences that should be blended together for a remedy, owners complete
a behavioural inventory which gives a good sense of that animal’s
personality, daily routines, training schedules and particular problems.
From this information Helen determines the essences to be made up into a
remedy and decides whether the
remedy should be taken daily or in certain situations.
Helen
also provides advice on how to incorporate within a
behavioural training program or performance training schedule.

Homeopathy
is the branch of holistic medicine which is based on the principle that
disease can be cured by strengthening the body’s natural defense mechanism. In
homeopathy a remedy is selected which would produce in a healthy body the
same symptoms found in the sick animal(“like cures like”). This
substance is selected from herbs, minerals and natural compounds which are
then diluted beyond the point of possible toxicity.
The
prescription of a particular remedy is based upon the totality of symptoms
of the animal. Unique and
characteristic symptoms are especially important. General observations
including behavioral traits (especially if there is a change) are also
important. In addition, occurrence of a certain symptom at specific times
o fthe day or during certain environmental conditions (seasonal, during
storms, in the cold, heat, etc.) can also be useful.
A
homeopathic remedy is a single substance derived from a plant, animal or
mineral. This is then subjected to a special procedure called
potentization which brings out the medicinal properties of the original
substance. There are currently about two thousand substances whose
specific effects on the body have been carefully recorded on healthy
individuals (provings).Examples include minerals like sulphur, plants like
poison ivy, and animal products like bee venom, There are thousands of
homeopathic remedies.
The
key to finding the right remedy is individualization. This means that the
totality of all symptoms experienced by the patient (including those
apparently unrelated to the main complaint) has to be known to prescribe
the remedy.
Homeopathic
preparations are safe because
of their highly diluted form. Homeopathy is a safe form of treatment in
that there are no chemicals or drugs in the remedies so there are no side
effects. Through
use of Kinesiology and a detailed client assessment, suggestions with
regard to homeopathics that may be useful can be made. In some
circumstances based on presenting symptoms, age and history
Animal Equilibrium
will recommend that you see a Veterinarian that is also qualified in
animal homeopathy to provide a more integrated approach using
allopathic and homeopathic approaches.

Biochemic
Therapy
Dr.
Welhelm Heinrich Schuessler (1821-1898), a German physician, discovered 12
essential mineral salts combinations for the treatment of many ailments.
Biochemic
Therapy is based on the fact that a living organism contains a
certain number of mineral substances essential to life, found in
the blood and inside the cells of all organs. Each mineral salt influences
organs and their functions, and in our organism they are found as
inorganic components, indispensable for all body functions.
1. They guarantee the nourishment of the cells.
2. They give healing signals and assist the cells with a better
utilisation of the nutrients from the food.
3. As a catalyst they make sure that the cells function well and
purposefully.
Biochemic
Therapy provides the body with the deficient minerals in a potentiated form
and this assists in the restoration of body balance. Mineral tissue
salts can have an alleviating effect in chronic cases as well as in acute
situations and also work on a preventative level.
There are twelve mineral tissue salts and each has a guiding set of
principles for how they may assist the body in healing and wellbeing.
Following a consultation Helen can look at one or more combinations of these
Mineral Tissue Salts to help in the recovery process.
